Mission

Our mission is to unite the efforts of women in music, defend their rights and fight abuse of women as well as promote the good of one another as one in Zimbabwe. The Desk hosts various workshops to empower women in music.

Aims & Objectives

We are aiming for total inclusion of every woman in the music industry as well as to be judged on merit not on gender.

We believe every musician regardless of gender has something to offer. The Desk aims to get support through legislative processes where gender equality is considered.

For who’s better to tell a woman’s story than a woman?

Activities

The Desk hosts various workshops to empower women in music. Besides the workshops, the Desk takes initiatives that help build communities like fundraising in times of need. This has seen the Desk raise resources for the Cyclone Idai Victims in 2019. The Women’s Desk coordinated the recording of an album by United Women in Music ZW titled Women of Essence in 2018 that featured over 71 women from across the country under seven genres.
