Biography
Prince Ussi, born Usumani Matamanda (Springs Crew) is a traditional contemporary musician from Chinhoyi. He is a product of Ethnomusicology Saturday pop workshops where he learnt marimba, drums and voice projection. His music is called Ngoyepa (Ngoma Yepasi) which is a combination of traditional and modern instruments with much emphasis on the traditional drum. Prince has recorded three albums Ngoma Yepasi, Yorira Ngoma, Mwana between 2003 and 2013 and a single video Regai Nditaure. In 2017 he recorded a single Ndatsvaga Ndashaya. Prince was a percussionist for Sekuru Gora and Ambuya Beaulah Dyoko. His percussionist skills attracted Clive Malunga who asked him to join Jenaguru Band and performed at Musicians Day of 1994 and 1995. He is currently working on three singles and one video.
