Biography

Tapuwa Bright Chisvo was born and raised inZimbabwe. Started his music Carrier with a small band that was called Gwarimba in 2004 preparing for the Music Cross Roads competition that they didn’t win until 2008 in Malawi when they were representing Zimbabwe against Zambia Tanzanian Mozambique and Malawi. He was the only Drummer playing for the 2 bands which where Gwarimba and Kombooka which is now Mokoomba which came No1 and 2 respectively.  which has never happen in the history of Music Cross Roads that one country takes both positions. They then got to tour Sweden and Austria as their price for one month in 2009. After the tour He decided to expand and be a brand I became a session drummer He join Diana Samukange and BaShupi and became their music director for  a couple of years. He moved to Summer Breeze which was a jazz out fit where most of his grooming came from in terms of disciple and maturity. During that period he backed artists like Aunty Dorothy Masuka, Mbare Trio , The Cool Crooners , a U.K bassed Jazz Pianist Jane and a few others.After a few years he decided to go International and joined a band called Black Pressure which is led  by Netsai Chigwendere. From 2012 to 2014 they toured USA and FArance with such an interesting time touring Europe. He has played locally with Jah Prayzah who is one of the top musicians in Zimbabwe and Cynthia Mare who holds won female album of the year at the NAMA awards. He also played for Rute Mbangwa who has a great jazz outfit that he enjoyed, and  celebrated award winning bassist Edith WeUtonga with whom he has played with from 2014 to date. WeUtonga is now an international artist based in the United Kingdom Together they  have played at most corporate events and festivals including VISA For Music Festival in Morocco. Tbright is a big brand where drumming and singing is concerned and in 2021, he  did a remix of a song done by the the legend Louis Mhlanga called Mai Rugare. The song has drawn so many comments and and is still moving on the chats on radio. Tbright is currently working to release his debut album. look out for that soon. Offstage, Tbright teaches drums and is a music director in studios.
