President

A performing artist for over 20 years, Edith is a founding ZIMU member and current president. She is an award winning musician and actress, project consultant and gives mentor support to upcoming talent and students. Edith holds a Music Business Honours degree from the Midlands State University, as well as a MA Music in Development from the SOAS University of London. Away from tours and theatre stages, Edith sits on various boards in Zimbabwe and is the founder of ZAWADI Development Trust. Edith currently sits as the Vice President of the International Federation of Musicians based in France.

Women’s Desk Chairperson

Chioneso Rutsito is a sensational vocalist, composer, instrumentalist and poet. She burst out with the memorable hit “Eddimore” in 2016. Went on to release two hot singles “No Plan B” featuring DJ Wedengaand “Kamini”. Her poetry pieces have also been featured in the Standard “UPINSMOKE POETRY CORNER”. She mostly writes from a woman’s point of view, especially about the effects of abuse, poverty, and identity crisis on women. An activist for women and children as well as African culture and identities in her own right. She has embarked on using her own Shona dialect ” Chibuja” in delivering her spoken word pieces hoping to encourage as well preserving the identity of theMabuja” people. She is an audio and sound engineer, a farmer, a costume designer and a skilled chef. She sits on the executive committee of the Zimbabwe Musicians Union and holds the national chairperson role of The United Women in Music Zimbabwe. She is an advocate for women’s rights and issues with WCoZ and ISAW women in Zimbabwe.

Programmes Coordinator

A music educator, drummer, musician, transcriber and producer, Collen Tom born on the 26th of April 1989 started his musical carrier in 2003. Tom toured nationally, regionally and internationally with renowned musicians from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi and Germany. He collaborated with various musicians as a drummer including the Charambas, Mathias Mhere, William Ramsay, Edith WeUtonga, Martin Lillich, and Netsayi Chigwedere among others. He is a member of staff at Music Crossroads Zimbabwe where he studied in 2015 for a professional certificate in music and later on graduated. To date, Tom has led several drum workshops and clinics under ZIMU and MCAZ banners. He is the Programs Coordinator of Zimbabwe Musicians Union (ZIMU).

Nasibo plays the Mbira instrument from Zimbabwe, as when she sings vocals which soothes
and uplifts your soul as she incorporates some of the vocal techniques such as Shona yodelling,
the Ndebele styles, scatting and other ways she borrows from other African countries.
To date she she has performed on several stages across the globe and she she has shared stages with international African Artists Habib Koite, Youssou N’dour, Jah Prayzah, and Bernice the bell to mention a few. Nasibo is part of a  cultural music experimental collaboration called Maisha Music Experiment held in Ethiopia by the EU delegation to the African Union. A
Growing up in her music career, she has found a way to address issues that affect society
through using her vocal ability to move one’s soul from a physical to a trance or spiritual
experience that heals the soul. Her music lifestyle has seen growth as a social and cultural activist and she sings of the. problems that affect women and children, Ubuntu and other social issues.

Energetic and vocal adept,he always leaves the audience with a wow-effect.His stage name is Kudzie Kayz born as Blessed Kudzai Shayamano from Zimbabwe.Professionalism is always seen in his careers of Musicianship,acting and modeling.Kudzie has toured about 7 countries with his 5 piece band and has been to Italy,Germany,Qatar,Saudi Arabia,Uganda,Zambia and Mauritius.In October 2021 he released an ep called the PANDEMIC DIARIES which has attracted more than 8000 streams and is yet to released an album late 2022.Kudzie’s music is rich in rhythms from Zimbabwe fused in modern vibes which makes his genre Afro fusion.An advocate for the arts,he serves as a committee member of the Zimbabwe Musicians Union

Beauty Katiji, a highly trained and qualified artist with a degree, specializing in the captivating realms of music and dance. She is the founder of Stimybee Arts Factory, were they nurture individuals ranging from 3 to 25 years old in a wide variety of artistic pursuit. Beauty had the privilege of collaborating with the esteemed musician such as Selmor Mtukudzi, Mbeu, Sarungano etc  and being contracted under the prestigious Norah Chipaumire Company and she is actively engaged with Younglife Zimbabwe a Christian based organization .

She is a member of the Zimbabwe Musicians Union, specifically under the Youth Talent desk. Within this role, she  dedicated to nurturing and developing the immense artistic potential of young musicians, guiding them towards success and facilitating their growth in the industry.

Luckmore Magaya holds an Honours Degree in Applied Media Arts and Performance studies issued by the University of Zimbabwe and a Diploma in Tourism and Business Studies [ICM] issued in    Bournemouth England. He is also on of the founding members of the Zimbabwe Directors of Ceremonies Association [ZIDOCA] and currently the Vice President of a highly talented Dance theater Academy called Elysium Magna which churns out television and stage productions.

The Master Charmer was selected the official poet for the inaugural Zimbabwe Film & Television Awards 2023 (ZAFTAs) and remains the tittle holder of the Harare Metropolitan Province Master of Poetry 2022 awarded by the Office  of the President. Luckmore serves as the Talent Management Officer for Zimbabwe Musicians Union where he has identified, groomed and empowered artists through his office.
